CC-Link IE Technology Seminar Successfully Held in Wuhan

The CC-Link IE technical standard is the first to implement 1 Gbit broadband Ethernet technology. It is an open industrial fieldbus network standard formulated by the CLPA international organization through transformation by the Machinery Industry Instrumentation Comprehensive Technology and Economy Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Institute of Instrumentation and integrated Technology), and is an Ethernet-based CC-Link IE industrial network technology. The transformed CC-Link IE national (GB) standard has been included in the industry promotion and upgrading plan for small and medium-sized enterprises organized by the Institute of Instrumentation and integrated Technology. On November 2, 2018, in order to expand the promotion of CC-Link IE industrial network technology in central China, the Technology Promotion Center of the Institute of Instrumentation and integrated Technology, together with the CLPA association and the CC-Link Working group of the control and Communication network of the integrated Automation Technology Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation, successfully held a CC-Link IE technology seminar in Wuhan. More than 100 representatives from application fields such as automotive, LCD, machinery manufacturing and communications attended the conference. More than 10 experts from the Institute of Instrumentation and integrated Technology, the CLPA marketing working group and its member companies (Mitsubishi Electric, Balluff, Hilscher, Festo, Nanjing Solidot, Shanghai Paiwofu) gave reports and technical application presentations on CC-Link IE, CC-Link IE compatible product development, conformance testing, and the selection and adoption of the e@Factory solution suitable for smart factories and digital workshops, as well as on-site demonstrations, interactive exchanges and Q&A sessions at the conference. Representatives of the EDGECROSS association and the OPC (China) Foundation were specially invited to give keynote reports on today's hot topics of edge computing and the industrial IoT respectively.

Researcher Li Yumin of the Institute of Instrumentation and integrated Technology and Zhang Rong, Director of the Secretariat of the CC-Link association, jointly chaired the conference and respectively introduced the standardization work carried out by the Institute of Instrumentation and integrated Technology and the formulation of standards by the CC-Link protocol family standards organization; the achievements made by the CLPA organization in technical promotion activities worldwide and in China in recent years, as well as membership development and the rising number of compatible product growth nodes; Mr. Gan Shuang, senior engineer of the CLPA association, and Mr. Qiu Xiaodong, application engineer, respectively explained the development and current status of CC-Link and CC-Link IE technology, their technical characteristics, and compatible product development, testing and certification. Mr. Mizushima Kazuya of Mitsubishi Electric presented the visualized e@Factory solution themed "giving full play to the collaboration of people, machines and IT", explaining how to realize key core functional elements such as personalized customization and production process monitoring and management. The CLPA member companies present gave presentations and interactive Q&A on product development, system solutions and multi-domain extended applications around CC-Link/CC-Link IE technology. User representative Mr. He Yuanmiao of Wuhan China Star Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. raised several expectations from the user's perspective regarding the application of CC-Link IE Control in the CIM system, such as: how to increase the number of communication points and improve the communication rate; how to improve the stability of multi-platform support and the convenience of adding new stations. Interactive exchanges took place between sessions, and lively online discussions and Q&A were held in the WeChat group for this CC-Link IE technology exchange event.
